Northern Lights Restoration contributed to preservation at West Baden Springs Hotel through multiple phases of furniture and woodwork restoration with a substantial cost savings to ownership. Initially, we refinished all the furniture in the historic library, billiards room, and the grand main lobby and mezzanine. Then we moved on to the dining areas, restoring the 24k gold-leaf dining chairs and antique wood bar in Sinclair’s Fine Dining, refinishing all tables and chairs for both Ballard’s Restaurant and Cafe Sinclair’s. On return trips, we refinished all the guest room furniture in 243 rooms and the Presidential Suite, as well as the main atrium’s lounge seating and Sinclair’s Conference Room wood wall panels.

The West Baden Springs Hotel, sister property to French Lick Springs Hotel, is an architectural marvel dating back to 1902. Its iconic 200-foot dome, constructed in under a year by 500 men, held the prestigious title of the world’s largest freestanding dome for over five decades, even earning recognition as the “8th Wonder of the World.” Throughout its history, the hotel has transitioned through numerous roles, from a luxurious health resort to a World War I hospital, a Jesuit Seminary, and a private college, before being lovingly restored by the Cook Family in the 1990s to become the 4-star, AAA Four Diamond award-winning property it is today.
