Northern Lights was enlisted by the Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa to restore and refinish a variety of furniture throughout the property. Our work included refinishing aging dressers, nightstands, and bedframes in all 40 guestrooms. In the bar and dining room, we refurbished the main bar, antique buffets and cabinets, and restored restaurant-standard tables and chairs. We also refinished the lobby furniture and various antiques found across the property.
Situated in the heart of Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge, the Columbia Gorge Hotel has a rich history. The site was first described in the Lewis and Clark journals and was home to Phelps Mill in the mid-1800s. The mill made staves for whiskey barrels that were carried by mules from Hood River. In 1920, Simon Benson purchased the site of the former Wau Gwin Gwin Hotel and built a new hotel, which opened in 1921. This became what is now known as the Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa.

Bob and his team did a phenomenal job not only on the furniture, but to do this in a timely manner, in high season, with minimal disturbance to our guests is worth the praise and recommendation of a job more than well done!
As we progress with our project of renovation and restoration, Bob will definitely be called back to continue the task; no other would come to mind.
